Finding the perfect will of God!

FINDING THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD
PRERQUISITES (Romans 12:1, 2)
1. Salvation. I am saved—--a true believer?
2. Dedication. Have I yielded myself and my life to God?
3. Separation. Is my life free from worldliness?
4. Transformation. Am I growing and progressing in my Christian life?

FINDING GOD’S WILL
1. ERASE your own will and desire in the matter. (This is the most important step.)

2. PRAY, asking God to show you His own will to help you erase your own will, and to give you wisdom to make the right decisions.

3. READ portions of the Bible that deal with the matter you are considering.

4. REMEMBER the great principles of God’s Word that apply to nearly all decisions. (See opposite page)

5. CONSIDER the ways that are open. (It often helps to write them down.)

6. THINK and meditate considering all aspects of the problem (It often helps to list those points for and against.) Pray over the list.

7. DECIDE!!!

8. PEACE? The final test of God’s will is whether or not your decision gives you peace. If not, begin again giving particular attention to.
GREAT GUIDING PRINCIPLES
1 - Is this what Jesus might have decided in my place? CI John 2:6)
2. Will this action bring the greatest glory to my Lord? (1 Cor. 10:31)
3. Would I want to be found doing this when the Lord returns? (1 John 2:28)
4. Wi1I this action bring impurity or useless harm to my body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit of God? (1 Cor. 6:19—20)
5. Will my following this decision offend another Christian, cause him to stumble, or make him weak? (Rom. 14:21)
6. Will my action be a help or hindrance to the unsaved? (Matt. 5:16)
7. Is this decision perfectly consistent with the Word of God? (II Tim. 3:16)
8. Can I unhesitatingly ask that Lord to bless and strengthen me to follow this decision, and do I know that He would be pleased to do so? (1 John 3:22)
“If any man will do to His will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it be of God.” (John 7:17)
